SciData Curriculum

In addition to the core requirements of the M.S. in Information Sciences, a variety of courses will allow students to build a concentration in digital data curation and scientific publishing.  These include courses in Digital Libraries, Database Management, Information Technologies, Information Network Applications, Scientific and Technical Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Curation, and Metadata.

In 2013 the program will include a special focus on science publishing and data curation.  Students will attend an e-publishing summer course held at a university in England in the summer of 2013.  This program aims to provide these students with an understanding of how publishers create electronic publications, with special reference to scholarly communications.
